Paul has spent more than 40 years in the for-profit education space, including building The Princeton Review from nothing into one of the foremost educational brands in the world. He also spent time in charge of all global operations for the company, learning the business practices and drivers throughout Mexico, India, China, Hong Kong, Japan, the UAE, Australia, and most of Western Europe.
Paul has worked with Bain Capital, Charlesbank, Verlinvest, A Star Education and served as a consigliere to a host of C-Suite executives throughout the space. Finally, he has served on various boards of directors and as the CEO of multiple, successful, for-profit educational concerns, including Collegewise, America’s largest college admissions company. Paul has helped these companies to go public, privately refinance, and mergers and acquisitions activity.
Because Paul is deeply steeped in understanding the needs and wants of educational entrepreneurs, at MidCap, he will work with our education clients on issues ranging from access to financial capital, talent, strategic nous, and successful post-acquisition integrations.
Paul was born in England, spent his early teen years in Africa and moved to the USA right before he went to UCLA. He, his wife and his twenty-five various animals live on a ranch in Santa Ynez, California.
